CRC 1678 project leader Andreas Mayer Takes a Major Step: New Professorship in Innsbruck

The CRC 1678 is delighted to share exciting news: Dr. Andreas Mayer, project leader of subproject A07 “Speed vs. fidelity: The role of nuclear RNA export under cellular stress” at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin, has accepted an appointment to a professorship at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria.

Effective August 1, 2025, Andreas. Mayer will assume the Professorship for RNA Biology and Genomics and take on the role of Director of the newly established Institute for Genomics and RNAomics. This milestone marks a significant progression in his scientific career and reflects his outstanding contributions to the field of RNA research and systemic consequences of fidelity changes in mRNA and protein biosynthesis.
